Metal legend Lars Ulrich of Metallica is helping free victims of wrongful conviction by raising money for Proclaim Justice (PJ) on their upcoming World Wired tour. He has graciously offered PJ the chance to auction off an incredible fan experience at select shows, starting in PJ’s hometown of Austin, TX when they headline ACL Fest on October 6th. The winner of each auction will receive two VIP tickets, access to the Metallica friends and family lounge, and a private meet and greet with Lars himself!
Metallica became unwittingly involved in the West Memphis 3 case when three teenagers were wrongly convicted of the murders of three young boys in 1993. Prosecutors theorized the teens were motivated by Satanism, partially evidenced by them being fans of Metallica and other heavy metal bands. The band played a role in the eventual freeing of the WM3 and have supported the efforts of Proclaim Justice in advocating for other victims of wrongful conviction. Needless to say, we’re humbled, honored, and super damn stoked about this!
