Natalie Maines

Recording artist and activist, Proclaim Justice board chair

Natalie is a singer-songwriter and activist whose successful music career has provided her a unique platform to raise awareness for important causes. As lead singer for The Chicks, she has won thirteen Grammy awards and sold over thirty million albums worldwide. While few can rival those achievements in music, it is her willingness to use her voice to advocate for those who don’t have their own voice that truly sets her apart. After learning of the tragic injustice of the West Memphis 3 case, she became a tireless supporter of the 3 both privately and publicly. She spoke at public rallies, sat for interviews, and performed at concerts in an effort to shine an even brighter light on the case. Once the WM3 were released, her interest in the causes of wrongful convictions and cases of injustice continued. Never one to rest on her laurels, she joined the Proclaim Justice board to continue being active in the cause and cases.
